A poem about the castle.

"Like a sentinel tall on the edge of a cliff,
The ruins of Slains Castle stand;
The windows, like eyes without sight, stare out
At the sea and the land.

The walls once so stout crumble slowly away;
The tower where the flag proudly flew,
Gives a thrill to the daring, who climb to the top,
The landscape around to view.

The dungeon below is still to be seen;
The gardens neglected and bare;
How sad it all is-
When the Earls of Erroll once lived so happy there."
